About Me
Hi! I’m Anton Storozhenko — a Data Engineer at Amazon focused on building reliable data pipelines and ETL systems that transform raw data into actionable insights. Outside of work, I run a homelab where I self-host various open source services and experiment with networking, automation, and security. My career path took me from a role as Financial Analyst to Business Intelligence Engineer and finally to Data Engineer, giving me a solid foundation in both the business and technical sides of data work. I’m always passionate about learning new technologies and always eager to dive into the next interesting challenge.

Description & Motivations
The goal of this project was to build a production-ready, enterprise-grade event streaming pipeline on a single VPS using almost entirely Open Source (OSS) tools.
I chose to work with Wi-Fi “wardriving” data because it felt tangible and “real-world.” I could have used Python Faker to generate fake profiles or messages with to feed into Kafka, i might do this in the future because i can control and signifacntly increase the number of messages to test the stack/project to its full capability, I wanted to capture live physical signals around my neighborhood.
